I am looking for parents and marriage record of William J. Sharp born Sept. 1826 in AL. In 1880 and 1900 he gave his father's birth place as NC. William (33 AL) was on the 1860 Independence Co. AR census with wife Nancy L. (age 29 AL), Mary E. (age 7 AL), and John W. (9/12 AR) Years ago in a marriage record book for Jefferson Co. AL I found a listing for William J. Sharp / Nancy L. Norwood January 1,1851 Jefferson Co. AL. Recently, I have seen two different sources with the same data except Sparks is listed as the groom. Can anyone tell me which is correct? Since the above was posted, I have found William J. Sharp's pension records. William did marry Nancy L. Norwood in Jefferson Co Ala. on Jan.1,1951. Now, if I can just find her parents! Nancy died on Nov. 19,1862. William married Sarah Ann Baxter on May 8,1864 in Iron County, MO. Children of Sarah and William: Amanda, George Sarah, Nancy, Frances, Alice, Henry, and Caroline. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
