Looking for information on John Philip Connolly, my great grandfather. Emma Millen my greatgrandmother (her father was a publican somewhere around Leather Lane as she lived on that road as well), John C. Connolly, my great greatgrandfather and Anna Maria Jane Zehander or Zehender, my great greatgrandmother. In london between 1850 and 1854 in the East End. Lived on Leather Lane. John C. Connolly was a watchmaker and most likely worked in Hatton Garden somewhere. John Philip married Emma Millen in 1851 at the New Jerulasem Church on Cross street, Hatton garden and then left for the USA. He came back for her later and returned to the USA. John Philip had a sister Maria. John Philip I believe was born in Ireland. I know he was bound apprentice to a company called Thomas Jones Ltd. in liverpool around 1844 to learn the art of Japanning. His mother Anna Maria Jane Zehender came from France when just a child most likely very early 1800's. Her father returned to France and passed away. She was receivng a pension at that time apparently around 60 pounds a month from a Sir John (Somebody) but it came from her brother(s). Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Even just a point in the right direction. Thanks | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
