Hi, I am researching my family surname line. My great great grandfather Alexander McKeith Crighton was apparently born in Port Glasgow or thereabouts around November 11, 1822. His father may have been Robert. I believe they were sea merchants. I appreciate a response from any Crichtons, Crightons, Creightons or other descendants who have any information on this family line. Alexander probably left Scotland in his late 20s.
