Greetings from Malaysia! Looking for information regarding Joseph Anton Jakob Norbert Kroll. According to family stories and some of the research I have done thus far Joseph Anton Jakob Norbert Kroll was owner of the Kroll opera House (also known as the Kroll Etablissment and Krollscher Wintergarten) located in Berlin, Germany on a site donated by the Prussian King Friedrick Wilhelm IV. Actually, King Friedrick visited Kroll's Winter Garden in Breslau for breakfast and liked the place so much that he wanted to open an identical Etablissment in Berlin. Kroll, Joseph Anton Jakob Norbert * 27,07,1797 Breslau, † 15,04,1848 Berlin, Restaurant operator/barkeeper, gardner. Buried at: Cemetery the Dorotheenstaedti and Friedrichwerder municipalities. Auguste Kroll (1821-1907), was the eldest daughter of Joseph. According to reference materials I have acquired Auguste was married to "Hungarian kapellmeister and violonist Jakob Angel" However, I believe the correct spelling is Engel not Angel. Auguste took over ownership of the Kroll Etablissment following her father's death. Additional children of Joseph Anton Jakob Norbert Kroll are: KROLL, Alwine b: 1817 in Unknown KROLL, Caroline Sophia Agnes b: 1824 in Posen Silesia KROLL, Heinrich b: 1818 in Unknown KROLL, Marie Louise Sophie b: 1821 in Unknown Particularly interested in siblings and parents of Joseph Anton Jakob Norbert Kroll.
