GIBSON, WILLIAM HARRISON and his spouse:Harriet (Jackson) Gibson
William Harrison Gibson was born in Golconda, Pope Co., IL 6 Sept. 1840. William married a girl of about 17 years old named Harriet Jackson on 15 March 1868 at Elizabethtown, IL. We guess she was born around 1850 in IL. The moved to Chautauqua Co.,KS. William died 22 May 1890, in a hotel in Moline,KS from being poisoned by lemonade. (In previous information I had obtained from Family Search.Org site it shows that Harriet's dad was from VA and mother was from IL.) William's parents were: Joseph Carroll Gibson and Mary Taylor. They would be my gggg grandparents. Joseph's d.o.b. is 22 Feb. 1815 in Tennessee, Mary's is 26 Dec. 1814 in Alabama.
William and Harriet had 11 children total whose names are as follows: Joseph Franklin, Mary Mahala, Luke died in infancy, Richard, Samuel, Harriet Ellen, Major Charles,
Lillie May (died in infancy), William Walter, Edward Ernest, James Harrison.
(William would actually be my ggg uncle. His brother Samuel Darius Gibson is who I am directly descended from.)
SAMUEL DARIUS GIBSON was b.10 Nov. 1849 in Pope Co., IL m. Rebecca Jane Kerley in Golconda, (Pope Co.)IL 11 March 1880. They lived in Marion, IL.Samuel d.25 Jan. 1944 and Rebecca J. d.8 Feb.1937. Both are buried in Marion, IL. Both William and Samuel had two sisters (Nancy Jane and Mary Ellen Gibson. SO THE MYSTERY I AM SEEKING IS TO TRY AND FIGURE OUT THE PARENTAGE (AND ANY SIBLINGS) OF JOSEPH AND MARY(TAYLOR) GIBSON.
