In Ethel Updike's book, "Tate (Tait) & Allied Families of the South", she used a reference to the "Judge Charles Tate(Tait) Diary". [Judge Tait lived 1768 VA - 1835 AL].
The 'diary' evidently contains personal family information on his ancestors, (also my ancestors). I have checked libraries & archives in several southern states, but have not found what I am looking for.
