You are contacting the submitter of the query: I am researching my ancestor Isaac STONE, born around 1818 in ME, died around 1888 at Lac du Flambeau, Vilas Co., WI. Isaac moved to WI in the 1840s to Langlade and/or Price county, working as a lumberman. He married Elizabeth, a member of the Ojibwe (Chippewa) tribe. Their children are Alvin, Langley and Nancy Ann (Elizabeth died during or immediately after giving birth to Nancy).
Langley STONE was born around 1856 and died in 1908. He married twice, first to Frederica Annie MARHEINE (1 son and 2 daughters), and second to Mary Ida Ingeborg PEARSON (2 sons). Mary and Langley’s son Raymond is my great-grandfather.
One mystery is that Raymond Martin STONE picks up the surname of LANSWORTH sometime before he marries Norma Mary AULEY.
I’d like to find out more about Isaac STONE and his Ojibwe wife.
I would be happy to share what information I have.
