Son John James Ford enlisted as a Private in Co. D, 150th Regiment, Illinois Vol. Inf. at Milford, Iroquois Co., Illinois (father identified only as SJ Ford) and served from 21 Jan 1865 to 16 Jan 1866. He then appears in Lawrence County, Indiana on 4 Dec 1867 when he marries Mary "Polly" (Turpin) Sullivan. His mother Emily appears with his family in the 1880 census of Lawrence County. Little is known of this Ford family before this time, so any bits of information that you may provide will be greatly appreciated.
