You are contacting the submitter of the query: Looking for Alice Rains born Kentucky abt.1856. The story is she was half indian (or may have been a white child kidnapped by the indians during that happened frequently during that period of time)and living with the Indians until the mounted calvalry came through and a soldier (a physician and his wife-Dr. Archibald Scott and Susan Scott) rescued her and adopted her. She had a locket on her neck that said Rains. She was rescued somewhere around the Iowa border (or so the story goes). there is a story that an Indian Chief went to the settlers store along with a brave and the clerk started asking questions about the child he had with him who looked white and had blue eyes. The brave turned to the Chief and said something to the effect of "Chief Rain's it's time to go" and they left. The settlers wanted the child back but were afraid of the Indians so they asked Dr. Scott to help as he was friends of the Indians and had treated their sickenesses before. She went on to marry John M. Bair and lived in Missouri. Her name was Alice. Your personal information will only be used to contact the submitter and will not be saved or used for any other purpose.
