I am looking for my great great grandfather Dewey Elger Chaffin. I have just started so I am terrible at it so far. He was married to my gg grandmother Verda Parks Chaffin, and she was from Ark. I think he might have been from Ark. as well. I want to find out about my grandfather, his son Willard Paul Chaffin.Who was married to my grandmother Jewell Moore Chaffin, of Tishamingo Co. MS. Most of my ancesters are dead, but all lived in MS for most of my life. If anyone has any info, please be so kind. My Grandmother's side:Jewell A. (Moore) Chaffin 9-30-1919 diedAug. 1983 MS
Mom: Sara Maude (Tipton) Moore
Dad: Jim Moore
Sisters:Reath (Moore) Denson,Rhea (Moore) Malone Both are living one in TN and other in MS
My Grandfather's side: Willard Paul Chaffin 1-06-1920 died Feb. 1985 MS *his death information is incorrect he didn't die in TN he died in Tupelo, MS hospital in 1985, as did my Grandmother Jewell, in 1983 of cancer.
Mom: Verda P (Parks) Chaffin 10-14-1902 (orphaned so this date could be incorrect) died Nov. 1989 Tupelo, MS hospital of cancer
Dad: Dewey Elger Chaffin 12-05-1898 died Aug 1982 I have found some Chaffin's in Arkansas that could be relatives of his, but nothing solid. I did also find a Wichita Co. TX cencus of 1920 with his name on it, but it made no mention of my Great-Grandmother Verda, or her son Willard my Grandfather. I am new at this, but I will forge ahead!
