I am trying to find information regarding my gr. grandparents and their families. John Andrew Derbyshire/Dearbyshire and Sarah (Morrish) Derbyshire were my gr. grandparents. They were married in England before 1864. Immigrated to the U.S. from England via London and La Havre, France aboard the Steamship Greece in 1875. Traveling with them were two of their daughters, Alice age 9 and Florence age 11 months. My grandmother, Jessie, the 3rd daughter was born in 1880 in the U.S.) Also traveling on the ship was Sarah's sister Margaret Morrish and her son, Henry Setford Morrish. They arrived in the port of New York in April 1875. Both my gr. grandparents are buried at Vale Cemetery in Schenectady, NY.
On my gr. grandparents death certificates it states London as their place of birth. John Derbyshire was a bricklayer. He died Aug 8, 1890, Sarah died Jan 28, 1932. Sarah's parent's names are John Morrish and Elizabeth Woolcott. I have tried several websites in England but cannot find any information on this family prior to coming to the United States.
