According to family info (but not documented), Araminta REID was born in Hannibal, Ohio, in 1827...called Baresville in early times). She married James Smith, of Jefferson county (son of Joseph and Roseanne Baxter Smith). James and Araminta had 4 little girls; Olivia (died as infant, Alice (my great grandmother who married a Bullard; Eva, married a Nye; Edith, married her cousin John Smith.
Araminta died young, in 1859, and is buried in Emma Grove Cemetery, in Hannibal. She and James and children had lived in Clarington at the time of her death, but she was taken down the Ohio River to Hannibal for burial, so I imagine she still had parents and/or other family in the area.....I just haven't been able to find them.
