looking for connections with descendants of Anthony Cassidy (born abt 1800) and his wife Mary Dolan (b abt 1807). Family tales recount that they had 11 sons and 1 daughter. They originally came from County Cavan in Ireland, but are recorded in Stirling, Scotland in 1851 & 1861 census. Mary died in Stirling in on 21 June 1864. Anthony left for the Unined States arriving in New York in April 1867 with his daughter Jane (b Stirling 1849) and g.daughter Mary. Known children are: the above Jane changed her name to Mary Jane "Jennie" Cassidy. Jennie married Hollis Sargent on Aug. 3, 1869 in Kansas. She died July 29, 1924 and was buried in the Emerald Cemetery, Anderson County, Kansas. (together they had the following children in Reeder, Kansas Charles b. Oct 6, 1872; Mary b. March 25, 1875; and in Garnett, KS, Elizabeth b. Aug 21, 1877; Catherine b. Apr 18, 1880; John b. May 2, 1883; Joseph b. Sept 8, 1888; Florence b. June 5, 1891.) Thomas married Ann Hunt on 22 October 1877 at (Old) St. Patrick Church, Kansas City. He later became a farmer in Anderson County, Kansas. He died aged 90 years on April 6, 1922 and is buried in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Greeley, Kansas. (he had a son born July 18, 1880 called Thomas Anthony Cassidy. Anthony jr was killed during the American Civil war. Matthew was also killed during the American Civil war. He Died June 3, of wounds received at Cold Harbor, Va., June 1, 1864. Maurice (my gg grandfather) married Elizabeth Honeyman in Stirling, Scotland in 1858. He died in 1908 in Alloa. James died in his teens. What happened to the other brothers Patrick, Michael, John is unknown. Any links would be much appreciated
