This is what i know to be true:
In Mobile County Alabama on 04 Jan 1870
William Lewis b-abt 1846 married
Julia Ann Dees b- 11 Jan 1846.
Julia had previously been married to a man
named Greene Stringer....Julia came into
the Lewis marriage with a daughter named
Emma Greene Stringer B- 1866.
Billy and Julia's first few children were born in the
north Mobile County community of Gulf Crest.
....By the 1880 census the family
had settled in the Washington County
community of Escatawpa where the family
remained.

I am interested in any information on this family. Names
of children or grandchildren I am seeking the
names of the parents of william (Billy) Lewis.
Family oral history has it that Billy deserted the family
about 1901 to parts unknown. i do not know when or
where he died.... any help will be appreciated..
