James Briggs (b. 8/25/1831 Wales) immigrated to Elk Rapids, Antrim, MI from Canada with his wife Eliza (b. 1840 CAN); sons: William Frederick (b. 1858 CAN), Harry James (b. 1866 CAN), and daughter, Charlotte (b. 1860 CAN). Here, James and Eliza had four more children: Etta (b. 1868), Charles Alonson (b. 9/6/1873), Grace (b. 1875), and George Lanson (b. 6/11/1879).
William married Mary Ann Winter in 08/08/1879. Charlotte married Eugene Cross in 12/08/1878. Harry married Nellie E McCauley in 10/26/1885. Etta married Alexander William McLaughlin in 10/11/1885.
