I am researching Wm. Thos. Willis family-he being born @1844 in SC-married to Lucinda C.???(dob-@1850 in GA). They were married about 1870 having children, James H., Floyd H., Georgia (Nancy), Sara Josephine (Josie), John H., Mamie "May", and finally Lula Victoria Willis who is my maternal grandmother.
Wm. Thos. and Lucinda last found on 1880 US Census living in Cherokee County, GA (Canton area) still found in 1890's attending Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Cherokee County. They supposedly died a day apart before the 1900 census. Am trying to find Lucinda's maiden name-possibly SWAIM, SWIM, DYER, ????.
Sara Josephine "Josie" married an Albert Stewman/Lula Victoria married Charlie Sanders Miller in AL.,Floyd married Julie Moore.
There was a SWAIM/WILLIS Dept. store in Blue Ridge, GA and connections in Postell, TN.
