I am looking for a Matthew (or Mathew) Hogan, from Tipperary Ireland. He married a Ellen Ryan, also from Tipperary, in New York (the Verplanck area) in 1849. They had seven children with three dying young. The ones that remained were Margaret, Mary, James and Ella. He died in April 1862. Ellen moved to Illinois in 1864. I am thinking that he died in the Civil War but I am not able to verify that.
Ellen lived until 1914 and was buried in Hennepin, Illinois.
