You are contacting the submitter of the query: My great gran was Gentila/Gentina Roberts, born 1890 in Hastings, Sussex (but moved with her family to Wales after 1901). Her parents were Samson and Mary Ann (nee Clark), who were Romany gypsies. Gentila had a brother named Jim who was a horse dealer and boiler maker, he married Agnes and lived in Brynmenyn, Bridgend. Gentila also had a sister named Celia, who wed Tim O'Shea and a sister named Harty, who married Robert Henson. Gentila married Percy Price, a coal hewer & soldier, and they too lived in Brynmenyn, then Bridgend. Their children were Rose, Percy and Violet, born 1920-1924. Jim and Agnes had a son named Bill Davies born in the 1920's, plus Jim had 2 children from his 1st marriage, Jimmy and Annie. Annie married Herbert Mitchell and lived in a gypsy wagon on her fathers garden. They had 4 children Jimmy, Muriel, Henry & Jacqueline. They moved to Newport when Henry was 16. Gentila died in 1966 in Newport as 'Gentila Edwards', as she was widdowed and had been living with an Alun Edwards by then. She often called herself Genty. I would love to hear from anyone who knows more about this family. Your personal information will only be used to contact the submitter and will not be saved or used for any other purpose.
