The above documents were found in the Worcester County, Md Orphans Court Records.
John (Goote) Gootee, about 11 years old was bound to Obediah Carey until he reached the age of 21 years.(this would have been about 1814) He was to be taught the trade of Cooper. Robertson Lamberson and Elisha Jones, Security. John was my GGGGfather.
Thomas (Goote) Gootee, age 13 years, was bound to Robertson Lamberson until the age of 21 years. (This would have been 1812) He was to be
taught the trade of Cordwainer (shoemaker). Obediah Carey and William Aydelotte, Security.
Obediah Carey and Roberson Lamberson were brothers-in-law.
I have never been able to trace either of the brothers during their servitude. As I stated, I've been able to trace John after his
marriage but what happened to Thomas after his servitude is a mystery.
If anyone can perhaps guide me to where to find information, it would be greatly appreciated.
