INSO Adopted male w/DOB around 60-62 from Syracuse, NY area... ************************************************************************ Searching for possible 1/2 brother/full brother put up for adoption around 1960-1962 because the unwed couple was only 15/17 or so with strict religious families. ************************************************************************ Son would've been of Caucasian / Polish American mix however the father's family does have a good deal of Native American as well, so a reddish tan, high cheek bones, deep set laugh lines, and darker hair do run in the family. ************************************************************************ Most likely would have been adopted in Onondaga County near Syracuse, NY. I can't recall the mother's maiden name but will update with it later this week (as the couple was young and unwed at the time so the child would have had her surname). Her first name was Jane. ************************************************************************ I'm a younger 1/2 sister on the father's side who just discovered this possibility of another 1/2 brother through my father. (I say possibility because the father's side says a boy was put up for adoption and was searched for later, as the couple did wed a few years later, but was never found. However the mother has told her other son (my 1/2 brother that she had after the the couple was married) that she had an abortion when she was younger. I can't find birth records without much to go on, so I'm just hoping if there is another 1/2 brother out there searching that he sees this. ************************************************************************ The father's surname if on record is Palmer. I'm his only daughter born in the late 70's to another wife and mother. I moved to PA with my mother and stepfather when I was young so I didn't spend much time w/my father's family. ************************************************************************ Other brother was born in the late 60's to the father and same mother, and then wife of the adopted son. ************************************************************************ While my stepmother has told my 1/2 brother she had an abortion, I wonder if that wasn't due to disappointment that she never found her son, as during the later years my mother spent with my father, he apparently lamented on many occasions over putting the boy up for adoption. ************************************************************************ To be honest, if I have another 1/2 brother, our father's side of the family is no prize to be won (sadly that's no exaggeration), however I have a wonderful 1/2 brother (who'd be your full brother) who has a great job and family and is well put together despite the bizzaro father's family. Also while I've only met my stepmom (your birth mother) on 3 occasions, she's quite pleasant and raised my 1/2 brother well and with good values. ************************************************************************ During the period my mother was with our father I know she loved my older 1/2 brother, and still does, as if he were a part of her family too, so I know she would love to meet another 1/2 brother if I have one out there. She just recently told me this whole story over thanksgiving weekend and thought I already knew about it. ************************************************************************ My mom's family (while not your blood relative) is well educated, well mannered, well employed, and very caring :) ************************************************************************ I have no children yet, but if I do, I'd like to know all of my family in advance so I could share family events and the like with them. (I didn't have the opportunity to meet my 1/2 brother until I was 11 so I have alot of lost time to make up with a possible 2nd as well). ************************************************************************ I would imagine the child was given up to a religion affiliated adoption agency, as both the father's family was very VERY Catholic, and the mother's family was very VERY religious as well...I'm guessing Roman Catholic as they were Polish. ************************************************************************ Hope this helps someone if you are in fact out there, and I hope to get to meet you someday. (Not sure if it matters, but had I know this sooner, I'd have started looking a long time ago :)
