MERKEL WALTERS here. My WALTERS came to VA from Scotland abt 1743 from the South Leith Midlothian (Newton Village) area to Colonial Virginia, to Fairfax, then Lunenburg then Pittsylvania Counties, took part in the Rev War which they won, then in 1810 moved to Al Madison County, then Miss. Yazoo County staying several years untill they arrkived in Nacogdosches County in 1835 and fought for Texas independence from Mexico, marrying and having families along the way. I am from the TEXAS branch. I want to hear from anyone having any knowledge of us and our times.
