Rufus Earl NUNNELEE was the 2nd oldest child of Rufus Alton NUNNELEE and Laura B.[MALONE].
Rufus Earl was born 04 Aug 1894 in Logan Co AR - died 15 Mar 1978 in Pushmataha Co OK and is buried with other Nunnelee's at A.L. Stephens Memorial Park in Clayton, Pushmataha Co OK.
Rufus Earl married Bertie [Hughart] abt 1913 probably in Haskell but maybe Muskogee Co, OK; they had 5 children:
Bill Mayo, Duke "Shortie", Thelma, Zelma Molly, and Grady Bethel born 23 Apr 1924 Briartown, OK.
When Grady was a baby his mother died and Rufus Earl farmed his children out to kinfolk; in 1930 Grady is found living with his mother's sister Odie [Hughart] and her husband John Wimberley in
Quinton, Pittsburg Co OK.
I don't know who took in the other 4 children.
Four of the five children ended up in California but Duke stayed in Ok and is buried in Haskell Co
OK. Also of the 5 children only Molly [Nunnelee] McCoy is still living.
It took me a long time to piece together what small amount of family information I have but there are a lot of blanks for this Nunnelee family: I would deeply appeciate any information regarding Rufus Alton and Laura's children so I can reunite this family with each other and their heritage.
