I am looking for my 2nd great grandmother. My grandfather believed she was of Native American descent and he believed she died in the early 1930's. He recalls her being called "Betty." I am not sure his recollections are entirely correct.
Her maiden name is listed as Ella Moore on her son's death certificates. It states she was born in Bourbon Co. KY. I believe her birth was about 1848. It is believed she married James Wilson Bills, though I have found no record of their marriage. She was listed on a census with him in 1870. They had four children Guy, James M., Horton, and Stella. She is not listed on any census' with him after 1870. In the 1900 census, Guy and James were listed as living with their father, and Horton and Stella were listed as living in an orphan's home in Louisville, KY. James W. Bills was listed as "widowed" on the 1900 census. For this reason I believe Ella may have died after 1893. If anyone has ANY information regarding Ella Moore Bills, please contact me.
