This place was a catholic Orphanage located in Scranton, Lackawanna County, PA. Birth name Richard Joseph Trotta. Richard’s mother was a young lady and unmarried. Also, she was a singer and traveled with her sister, also a singer. Of Italian descent her surname was Trotta. First name either Joan or Marie. Richard’s birthfather was of English descent, surname Jackson. We have a letter stating that Mr. and Mrs. John Glenn of Pittston, Penn. recommended Mr. and Mrs. Miranda for receiving custody of Richard from St. Joseph’s whom they might legally adopt. The letter is signed by Sister M. Lucinda, IHM. We also have a baptismal certificate from the Chaplain of St. Joseph’s Chapel Scranton, PA
