Am looking info on the Dawson sibs that were on the 1930 Waxahachie, Ellis Co., Texas census.
The Dawson sibs--or some might be cousins--are listed in the household of Walter. S. Helms, age 38 and his wife, Arrie Helms, listed age 25.
I think the Arrie could be "Maria".
The listing is as follows:
Milton C. Helms, age 3
Lynar R. Helms, age 9/12
Martha F. Helms, grandmother, age 72
R.L. Dowson (Dawson) age 16
Wilma E. (Etta Dowson, age 14
Joseph A. Dowson, 10
Doris N. (Naomi) Dowson, 8
Grady Dowson, 5
The sibs are listed as "cousins" to head of house and also they are listed as grandchilden..which I would assume is to Martha F. Helms.
Doris Naomi Dawson, would be the Great-grandmother of my granddaugher... Doris would be my son's wife's grandmother and I am researching this line for them. Doris died when she was abt 40 years old and the children never got to know her history. She was married to O.J. Cranford and they moved all around Tx, Ill, and OK.
I would like to know what happend to the parents of the Dawson sibs and why they are living with the Walter S. Helms family in 1930.
If any of this is at all familiar, please respond. I am almost 60 myself and have a great appreciation of family history and all the reseach that goes into it.
