Jesse C. Carter was my grandfather. My parents seperated when I was 8 so I know very little of my dad's side of the family. Jesse was born about 1891 in South Carolina. According to the 1920 & 1930 Census' he lived in Sumter, Sumter County. His wife was Willie Margaret Joyner, b. abt 1892. Their children were Myrtie E.(Carter) Bradham, Walton, Jack Carroll (my dad), Lonnie W. and Mary E.(Carter) Disher. I remember my mother telling me Jessie died when my dad was 15, so that would have been about 1932. I don't know his parents names or where he was born but believe he died in Sumter. In the family Bible my mother has Jessie's brothers listed as H. Claude, Lonnie F. and William P. and a sister Ruth.
