I was born in Gallup, New Mexico at the McKinley County Hospital on or around December 23, 1977. I do not know anything about my birth parents, and the attorney who handled the adoption "lost" the records and has since passed away. My adoptive parents are not supportive in my finding my birth family, but I do know I have (had) a sibling born when I was about six years old. My birth mother contacted the attorney at that time because there was a birth defect or disease that my sibling had that she wanted them to test me for. I was adopted at 11 months old, which leads me to believe my birth mother tried to keep me at first, but was unable to. If anyone has any information or can help me, please contact me.
