Samuel Leslie, born Nov. 3, 1830 in Pennsylvania. Died Aug. 2 1894 Spencer, Buchanan County, Iowa. He serrved in the Civil War. Married to Sophia M. Pierce, daughter of Marinus & Mary Pierce , she died November 27, 1859 at the home of her brother in law James Leslie, Summit County, Ohio leaving an infant. I am looking for information on this child.
He was married to an unknown either before of after this marriage. I would like any information on this also. There is a possibility that one of these wives was an American Indian from family verbal information.
He married Lucia Augusta Pearsall on January 6 1864 at Quasqueton, Buchanan County, Iowa. They had nine children. She survived him. Two daughters, Clara Golden Leslie and Mary Loavina Leslie are buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Independence Iowa. Daughter Jenny Bell Leslie is buried at Union Cemetery, Spencer, Boyd County, Nebraska. The six sons of this marriage survived him also.
