Hi. I seek descendants of the Gillespie family of Hudson, New York. Bridget Gillespie (1852-1883) was the first wife of my great-grandfather, Michael Higgins. Her parents were William and Winnie Gillespie. Her siblings were Maurice, Catherine, William, Edward, John, Mary and Fanny.
Bridget married Michael on May 12, 1872, at St. Mary's Church in Hudson, NY, and their son John was born in July, 1872.
Briget had at least one sister, Catherine, who married Charles McDermott and had a daughter Maria, born September 1874. Bridget was a sponsor at Maria's baptism. In 1880, Maria was living with Michael and Bridget; I don't know why.
