I am Graham Galligan from limerick Ireland and i am looking for as much information as possible for a School project on my family surname galligan and its variants. i need solid information and the internet isn't yielding much results because i keep running into sites by Americans not going back far enough or searching for an individual or trying to find distant cousins in the states.
i cant get much information from family as my grandfather is dead along with 1 of his brothers his other brothers and his sisters live in england
What a basically need is solid information on where they originated which is either cavan or Derry or cavan then Derry and what there part in the community was i know it is possible to trace back to the Celts but my project mainly focuses on the middle ages i have also found two different family crest's one is obviously a coat of arms but im not sure of the difference.
i need this information by Friday thanks a lot
