I'm hoping to learn more about my GG grandmother's parentage. Her maiden name was FRANCES JANE SHAMBLIN, and she married a man named WM. KIRKPATRICK. She was born in Norwich, MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio in 1841. Her death certificate lists her father as JAMES S. SHAMBLIN and his place of birth as unknown. Her mother is listed as unknown. Frances was raised by a couple named JAMES AND ELIZABETH COMBS. They could possibly have been her grandparents. The Combs lived in Muskingum County in 1840 but by 1850 were living in Preble County, Ohio along with their children, FRANCES SHAMBLIN, and possibly Franceses' brother, a boy named JOSEPH SHAMBLIN.
