I am in search for my birth sibling whom was taken away when he was 9 months old from Pounding Mill,Va where his birth parents lived at the time. His birth name is William Lee Proffitt born on 04/30/1967 at Mattie Williams Hospital, which the hospital is no longer there in Richlands,Va. The doctor that delivered him was Dr. McVay. He was taken away on January 1968 by the social services in Virginia which is Tazewell County. I am his older sister, Carolyn born 12/03/1965. He has 2 other sisters, Rebecca and Sherry and 2 other brothers, Charlie and Frankie younger than him. His birth parents are Charlie L Proffitt and Bertha Rodriquez{VanDyke}.Birth parents were married when he was born. He was born early and had some problems with stomach. Social Services thought that birth parents could not take care of him so they took him. Birth Parents went to Tazewell Court to get him back but they would not give him back. The name of the guy from social service is Mr. Davis.They tried to get me and Rebecca, but birth parents was not going to let that happen. If anyone has any information, please let me know because we have been searching for years and would really like to know about him and how he is. To find him would really help make our life complete and fill that void in our hearts. If he wants contact with us, we would be very glad to meet him but if not, that will be okay too because at least we will know that he is okay. We just need to get some closure on this and have hope that it will all work itself out. We need all the information we can get on this and hopefully find him.
