Searching for the natural parents of a boy born in 1866 in Highland Twp, Guthrie Centre, Iowa and adopted by Alexander Littlejohn and Ruth Clearwater Littlejohn. The boy was given the name of Francis Marion Littlejohn.
The dates vary on his birth from 1865 to 1867. He died in 1948. Stories that have been passed around in our family are that he was the child of an opera singer and her agent husband, in Philedelphia and was placed for adoption by the Dr that delivered him. Also - that his natural parents last name was Schmidt or similar.
The marriage to Ruth for Alexander, was his 2nd marriage. His first wife died, and had a brother named Francis Marion that was born in about 1835. Probably just a coincidence - but interesting.
