I am searching for my birth mother or father. I was born in Iowa City at Mercy Hospital at 2:01AM on the 26th of December, 1952. It was a 2 hour labor and delivery and I weighed 5 lbs, and was given O2 upon birth. I am a male, who was sent to Ottumwa to live in the American Homefinding facility until adopted May 1953.
My birth mother was married, but not to my birth father. They had a child who died at birth, and then had 1 daughter born in 1950. So I have a sister, at least.
My birth father may have suffered depression or a mental disorder in 1951 as is reported.
My mother was born in Cedar Cty, Tipton Iowa: a high school graduate, blond,blue eyes 5ft 6in, and about 138 pounds. Her mother was from a farm and did sewing, and her father was a farm hand.
