My mother, Louise D. Lyons, gave my sister up for adoption in July, 1947 in Evansville, Indiana. My mother was born in McCurtain, Okla and returned to Okla after the adoption. She was single at the time, but probably listed my father as the child's father. His name was Ruby "Joe" Lyons. Joe was from Kentucky and she followed him there just before the birth of this baby. She went through a lawyer in Evansville, but I am not aware of any other details of the adoption.
