I am looking for any information on my paternal grandmother,Carrie Starks. I do not have a birhdate. I do not know if starks is a married or maiden name. She lived Desota County, MS. and Memphis Tenn. between 1860-1918. She was mixed indian and black although from pictures, she did not appear to be black. She also lived for a while in Como Ms. She had a baby, Dan Bethany by her employer, Dave Bethany (white) around 1888 in Panola County Miss. They were never married but my father carries his father's surname. My father was 64 when I was born.
Dan Bethany spent spent about six years somewhere in Colorado from abt. 1901-1907 as a cattle rancher with an older white rancher.
Including my father,Carrie had at least four other children, Clarence Starks, Mable( no last name) and a set of male twins.
