My Grandfather, Fred Andrew Oakes, was bon in 1896. The only information he shared is that he was raised in an orphanage in upstate New York. He married Beatrice Moody and lived in Stratford, CT. He had 2 children-Elizabeth Oakes (Watcke) and Edmond Fred Oakes. He worked at the United Illuminating Plant in Bridgeport, CT and died at the age of 65 of a heart attack.
