I'm searching for my 1/2 sister who was adopted through NJ DYFS. She was born between 1983-1986 (I Believe). Her Birth Name was Joanna. Her mom's (my mom) name at the time of her birth was Frances Watts. Joanna (adoptee) was adopted by her father’s family. Her dad's first name is John & I believe his last name was Ricardo (not sure of the spelling). Monmouth County NJ was the county where the adoption took place (this was coordinated through Dyfs .) My Mom's nick name was "Cherry". No one ever called her Frances.
My mother had a mental illness and she was a frequent patient at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital (where it's believed that she met Joanna's father, John). I'm not sure if John had psychiatric issues him-self but this is all the information I have on him. My mother's ethnicity is mixed with black & Cuban. John's ethnicity was either Italian or Hispanic (not sure). My mother had seven children in total and only Joanna was adopted. My mothers was born on 9/25/53, she is now deceased as of 1995. My siblings and I would like to contact Joanna (if this is still her name) as we would like to get the chance to meet her.
