Martin White was a first cousin to my ggg grandfather, Jean Pierre Sam. The children of Martin White and Felonise were:

many of their children lived in the Grand Coteau, Carencro, and Iberia area in Louisiana in the early 1900s. Martin White was the son of the irishman, John White, who fathered several children with a free woman of color named Euphrosine Masse or Senette in the records. She was the sister of my gggg grandmother, Babet Masse aka Elisabeth Sennet. Babet Masse married Jean-Louis Sam,a free negro in Opelousas in the 1830s. All of these families were free persons of color who lived in the Carencro, Iberia, Grand Coteau, Arnaudville, and Opelousas areas.
