You are contacting the submitter of the query: I am searching for information on my great-great-great grandfather. George W. Chandler Sr. (1823-1850's?) lived in Tallapoosa County Alabama.
He married Louisa A. Carr (1828-1880's), daughter of John Carr and Jane (Young). George Sr. and Louisa had three children- Delilah (1849-1900's) (married James Giddens), Mary (1851-?) and my ancestor George W. Chandler Jr. (1853-1917) (married Augusta Lindsay). After George Sr. died, the family moved to Talladega, County Alabama.
I have been told that the Chandlers or the Carrs were part Native American (Cherokee) but I have been unable to prove that.
I believe that George W. Chandler Sr. may be a brother of Love Chandler, Ira Chandler, Elia Chandler and Laura Chandler, all of whom may have lived in Tallapoosa or Talladega County in the 1850s and 1860s. I have been unable to prove any connection (although George Sr.’s daughter Delilah has the same name as Love Chandler’s mother).
Does anyone have any connection to this line?
Do you have any family photos for this family?
I will gladly share any information I have with you.
