I am trying to find the connection between the family of John Lemuel Newman (b. May 1889) (my grandfather) and Mavis Pearl Newman (b. 1903),of Tallapoosa or Sylacauga, AL. Before my grandfather died, he told me that we were related via the Musicks. John Lemuel's parents were Lemuel Ludico Newman and Saint or Sarah Francis Musick. John Lemuel Newman's sister was named "Ruthie Pearl", and she was born in 1887. I cannot find Mavis Pearl Newman's mother's name or any of her siblings. (She married Fred Carubba Nabors.) Also, I cannot find a death date or marriage information for Ruthie Pearl Newman. My grandfather mentioned sisters or half-sisters, but I can not remember the exact connection.
