Searching for info on my ggrandfather, James Gahan. Spouse was Jane Whelan (born in 1847 in Ireland,died 1925 in NY) They had 7 children: Nicholas, Jane Maria, Angelina, Mary, John J, Kate and Unknown. Three of the children were born in Enniscorthy, County Wexford, Ireland for sure, so one would have to assume they all lived in or near that city.
As of 1900, Census records in the US show Jane Whelan as a widow in NY with only two living children, John J & Kate.
