Searching for any info or family of Loy(d?) Moses (or Mack) Franks. Spoke fluent German, was Catholic, may have been a German Jew. First wife was listed as Cleo, Cloie, but her name may have sounded like Shell-O, not sure about the spelling on that. Her maiden name was Moody, and a 1920 census says she was born in South Carolina, and he was n in NC, but pretty sure they were immigrants from Germany, but stories of him being a stow-away on a ship that came from Spain to America. May have been in World War I, his birthday was Feb. 22, 1883-1891, found multiple birth dates. His second wife was Lula Tew, his third wife is unknown and his fourth was Glennie Davis. He lived in 1930s in the Harnett, NC area. With Cleo, his children are Irma, Wallace, Paul, and Billy. He was an engineer, and was well-off. He has been very hard to trace, he was running from something, had multiple birth certificates, moved and used different names. We know nothing of his parents, and I would like to find out anything I can to tell my grandfather about his dad.
