HELP**Looking for records on orphaned children in 1919-1920 who lived at the Humane Society of St. Joseph and Buchanan county childrens home? This was a animal shelter and the old central St Joseph police station at one time? I think? Please confirm??? And they took in young orphans? Where can I possibly search in missouri for my grandmothers records, files and birth certificate? Her name was Margaret Williman or Williams (not sure of proper spelling) dob: 01/25/1913 she was a blond hair blue eye 6 year old. She was adopted in 1919 by Clyde Jack Ayers from Texas. I have letters back in the 1980s saying when my aunt did some research stating Missouri could not release ANY of her information on her biological parents without an affidavit being signed. Come on... my grandmother is now passed and so did her unknown parents. How could the unknown parents sign anything if they were long dead? I just want some family history to share about my grandmother.
