In 1889 my great-grandfather John G Carlisle, wife Margaret, children Margaret, John and Andrew came to Seattle WA from Bo'ness Scotland. The second eldest child Elizabeth stayed with her material grandparents. Several years later her mother made her come to the U.S. She was very bitter about it and didn't want to come. Elizabeth was never close to her family after that. Do you have this same family story?
