Joseph Ulrich (1830-1911) was born in Austria and married Marie Walter (1825-35) from France on 9/6/1864 at St Joseph Catholic Church in Detroit. Marie was the widow of John Walter (1823-1863)and she already had 3 children by him. Does anyone know what Marie's maiden name was before she married John Walter? A marrage certificate at St Mary's church says "Josephus Walter married Margaretha Hartman on March 5, 1855. This last name does not compare with other documents. Her marriage certificate to Joseph Ulrich lists her only as the widow of John Walter. Does anyone know when or where in France she was born or when Joseph was born?
