I am looking for information on my great grandfather, Richard Lane. He was born in 1867 and supposedly deserted from the Royal Navy in the late 1880's when he was in Nova Scotia, Canada. His real name was we believe MacLaine and he was from England. His family allegedly owned a metal foundry in London.
