I am searching for information on this “Dowd” / “O’Dowd” line. This is what I have. These people all seem to have lived in Mass. Or Rhode Island, U.S.A.
In 1900:
John Dowd- Born in Irland in January, 1840. Came to U.S.A. in 1847. Widowed by 1900.
In 1900, These people were living with him.
Mary F. - Born May, 1869
Catherine J. – Born March, 1871
Rosa N. - Born Dec 1876
Herlena – Born Feb. 1878
Lillian G. – Born May 1880
Joseph H. – Born March 1882
Benner J. – Born March 1898. He was Adopted.
I descend from Joseph H.
He married Edith Bailey and had three children:
Edith M. Dowd
Warren J. Dowd – Killed in WW II
Merrill D, Dowd – Born Sept, 1911- Died July, 1969
Merrill D. Dowd married Blanche M. Fague and had three children.
Joseph W. Dowd never married/no children
Patricia A. Dowd
Edith F. Dowd.
One other note. In 1930, Bennet J. Dowd was 26 years old and had married “Ellen.” They had four children:
Beatrice E. (8 y.o.)
Joseph H. (6 y.o.)
James P. (4 y.o.)
Shirley M. (1 y.o.)
