I'm stuck with my family tree at Alexander LESSELS c1803/5 who married Elizabeth DURIE born 12 June 1807. At the time of their son Alexander's (born but not registered on 12 May 1832)marriage, Elizabeth was deceased and the surname was registered as LESSLIE. Elizabeth Durie's parents were John DURIE and Margaret THOMSON born about 1780 at St Andrews, Fife. Margaret (Thomson) Durie was said to be age 71 years in the 1851 Scottish Census. Spelling variations also include LESELS, LESLES, LESSLES.
