Trying to find the maiden name of Mary "Polly" who married Elisha Hardcastle in 1770 in Johnston County, North Carolina. The only clue I have is the name Van Buren which shows up as a given name in several generations of her descendants. For example, one of her grandsons in my line was named Martin Van Buren Beaver. I know it's not for President Martin Van Buren because my ancestor was born before the President became nationally known. Mary "Polly" was born 1752 in Johnston Co, NC/died 1835 Winchester, Franklin Co, TN.
